Smoke & Mirrors - Ferrari 250 GT/E 2+2 #2835
One of the 954 Ferrari 250 GT/E 2+2s was Enzo Ferrari's daily driver of choice while it was in production from 1960 to 1963.
In the mid 1990's Tom Zat commissioned Mark Gerisch and M & L Auto Specialists, of Wisconsin to convert his 250 GT/E 2+2 #2835, into a replica 250 GT SWB Competizione of which just 73 original models were made.
As the Bonhams catalogue said when this vehicle came under the auctioneers hammer in May 2008,
"exciting and fully road legal, this highly desirable and versatile Ferrari represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire an attractive facsimile of the much sought after and legendary 250GT SWB Competizione at a fraction of the price. "
Hope you have enjoyed Ferrari Friday, back again tomorrow with a unbelievably cool Lister Bristol at Thompson CT in 1958, don't forget to come back now !

Fun Ferrari Friday as always!
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited CAM I saw another of Enzo's daily drivers. I hope my dad, J2Allard, will chime in with the model as I did not commit it to memory.
Wish I had a few Ferraris to choose from for my daily jaunts. But, in my line of work, the Toyota Sienna minivan is perfect! ;-)
This one reminds me of the 250GT Berlinetta Lusso I saw in Baltimore at a show with Chief and her parents. I fell in love with the car. Chiefs' Dad was showing the 1913 Zinn Buick racecar he was campaigning at the time.
ReplyDeleteI think Enzo's next daily driver was a 330 GT America or something like that Chief, Ryan Zinn Buick is a new one on me is that an Indy Car ?
ReplyDeleteWOW, that's what I call a car.
ReplyDeleteI aim to please some of the people some of the time JC, I might be able to find another one for next Friday :-)
