GALPOT Weekly #09/13
Welcome to GALPOT Weekly #09/13 a review of the last seven posts at "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres".
The week started with a look at a 2009 Dodge Pace Truck seen above at Talledega where it performed in the Spring Aaron's 499.
Tuesday's post, the last in the present series of Tuesday MG posts, featured a Celebrity MG Metro Turbo that was raced by invited drivers in the 1989 ESSO Metro Challenge, the car is seen above at Oulton Park with British Touring Car racer Jerry Mahoney at the wheel.
Among the may fascinating vehicles on display at this years Race Retro which was reviewed on Wednesday was this recreation of a steam powered 1905 White Sprint Car that is scheduled to appear at the Sywell Classic Pistons and Props event at the end of September.
Thursdays blog returned to North Carolina where this Buick Regal Short Track Cup car was built by the legendary Banjo Matthews for Bobby Allison to drive in his 1983 Cup winning season.
Ferrari Friday returned to Goodwood for a look at the car that was reputedly sold privately last year for more than twice as much as any car ever sold at auction, namely the US$ 35 million Ferrari 250 GTO chassis #3505 that won two Austrian GT championships for actor actor Gunther Philipp in 1963 and 1964.
Yesterdays post looked at the Lotus Honda 99T of the type that Ayrton Senna drove to the last two Lotus Grand Prix victories in 1987 which helped Ayrton and Lotus third in the World Drivers and World Constructors championships respectively.
Today's post feature another Formula One contender the Ensign Ford N173 with which designer Mo Nunn and driver Rikky von Opel made their Formula One debut at the 1973 French Grand Prix.

GALPOT Weekly #08/13
Welcome to GALPOT Weekly #08/13 a review of the seven posts that appeared on "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres" from February 18th to February 24th.
The week started with a look at this 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T seen at last years Yanks Picnic at Shakespeare County Raceway.
Tuesday's blog featured a couple of MG Metro 6R4's including Tony Ponds example seen above on the 1985 RAC Rally in which Pond and Rob Arthur finished 3rd on the cars World Championship debut.
On Wednesday GALPOT visited the February Avenue Drivers Club meeting where this 1952 Aston Martin DB2 was one of the stars.
Deal of Asheville North Carolina supplied this 6 window Buick Electra 225 Riviera, featured on Thursday, new to a lucky customer in 1962.
Ferrari Friday featured the 83rd Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta built, it was sold new to Ettore Buzzi in 1962 and the steel bodied car remained with him for at least 32 years before it passed into new ownership.
Saturday's post featured a Lotus Renault 98T formula one car, which at 5.5 bar boost could produce an estimated 1300hp, of the type that Ayrton Senna drove to victories in 1986.
Sunday's post featured a fiber glass bodied car built on a 1949 Ford Anglia chassis called a Shirley Mk II.

GALPOT Weekly #07/13
Welcome to Galpot Weekly #07/13 a review of blogs posted at "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres" during week 7 11th February to 18th February.
The week started with a look at this 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended Cab with the 'Big Rig Look' credited to Philip E Payne that took Dodge to the top of the US pickup sales league from 1996 to 1999.
Tuesday's post featured an MG Midget 1500 that Trevor Kirk ended up restoring twice in twenty years, second time round it was voted best car in the International Midget 50 celebration at Burghley House in 2011.
A couple of weeks ago GALPOT ran a feature on Johnny Martinez '29 Ford Pickup, Johnny's adventures in the Grand National Roadster Show at Panoma with his neighbour Gary L Wales, who's 1919 American La France based La Bestioni V is seen above, were the subject of Wednesday's blog.
This Red Hot 1958 Buick Special Convertible featured on the Valentines Day Blog.
In 2008 US $ 4,000,000,000 would have bought you this 1963 steel shelled Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta that featured on Friday.
Unsurprisingly after the death of founder Colin Chapman Team Lotus struggled in 1983, but hiring Frenchman Gerard Ducarouge midway through the season resulted in a dramatic upswing in the teams fortunes thanks to the Lotus Renault 94T which was designed and built in 42 days.
The Berkeley SE338 Deluxe featured on Sunday was powered by an 18 hp twin carburetor Excelsior motor cycle which gave the cute li'l critter a top speed of 70 mph and a 50 mpg fuel consumption.

GALPOT Weekly #06/13
Welcome to GALPOT Weekly #06/13 a review of the last seven posts at "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres".
The GALPOT week started with a trip back to 1947 and a look at a "Job Related" series Dodge 1 ton pickup.
Tuesday's post featured an enchanting replica MG Q-type an MG parts bin racer.
On Wednesday GALPOT featured this Monteverdi 375L High Speed a 2+2 Coupé for the discerning international man of mystery.
The only thing missing from the options list of this 1950 Buick Roadmaster Riviera that featured on Thursday was a tooth brush according to one contemporary wag.
Ferrari Friday featured this Ferrari 250GT SWB Berlinetta Compitizione which Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez drove to a debut win in the Paris 1000kms race held at Montlhéry.
Yesterday's post featured this Lotus Ford 92, seen here with Brendon Hartley at the wheel, an interim car built for Nigel Mansell to drive while Renault got up to speed with their supply of turbo motors. The Lotus 92 was the first Formula One car to be fitted with active suspension.
Today's post feature's Daphene Arnott's supercharged Arnott Sports which made an unsuccessful attempt to qualify for the 1955 Le Mans 24 Hours. Daphene Arnott is thought to be the world first female to found a automobile manufacturing business.

GALPOT Weekly #59
Welcome to GALPOT Weekly #59 a review of the last seven posts at "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres".
The week started with a look at a 1989 Volvo 740 GL that has been converted into a pick up with the intention of carrying a Royal Enfield Motor Cycle to show's and rallies.
The second of three Hot Rovers in the form of a 139 mph 2001 MG ZS was featured on Tuesday.
On Wednesday I looked at the Volkswagen Type 181 utility vehicle curiously marketed in the USA only as "Thing".
My irregular Perfect Car For A Wedding feature returned on Thursday with this 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT/8, of the retro muscle cars currently on offer without a doubt my favorite.
"No Hay Dos" provided the introduction into the ins and outs of the Mexican language and domestic product market on Friday as I explored the meaning of the unusual strap line painted on this Ferrari 250MM.
Yesterdays featured Talbot Sunbeam Lotus shares it's Lotus Type 81 number with the 1980 Team Lotus Formula One car, but it was much more successful winning the 1981 World Rally Manufacturers Championship.
Today's featured Rolls Royce Ghost V12 is described in Rolls own words as “more realistic, more measured”.

GALPOT Weekly #57
Welcome to GALPOT Weekley #57 a review of the last seven posts at "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres".
The week started with a meeting of the Avenue Drivers Club at Queen Square in Bristol, where this 1959 Lancia Appia was my car of the day.
On Tuesday I looked at this MG Maestro 1600 which took part in a thrilling race for pro drivers event at the end of the 1983 season driven by rally ace Tony Pond who came home third with the front passenger door hanging off.
Wednesdays post featured the last all new rear engined design from Volkswagen the Type 2 (T3)s which were manufactured between 1979 and 2003.
This Plum Crazy Dodge Challenger R/T was the feature of Americana Thursdays post, probably my all time favorite Muscle Car.
Ferrari Friday featured a Ferrari F60 Formula One car of the type that Kimi Räikkönen used to win the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix his last before winning the recent Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for the Genii team's Lotus branded challenger.
Yesterday's post featured the Lotus Ford 80 probably one of the most visually sensual Formula One cars never to win a Grand Prix.
Thanks to Geoffrey Horton today's featured car is a Huispano Suiza K6 convertible with body work designed by former dentist Georges Paulin who worked for Carrosserie Pourtout.
