GALPOT Weekly #60
Welcome to GALPOT Weekly #60 a review of the last seven posts at "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres"
A converted Hillman Imp Super Pick Up was featured on Monday's blog, the donor car was given to the owner after the body work was found to be a little less than solid in some areas.
Last of the current schedule of Hot Rover series was this shot silk chromescent MG ZT-T estate / station which was featured on Tuesday.
Wednesdays continental curiosity was the Fiat 128 based Zastava Type 101, which has been marketed with many names including the Yugo 511 in the UK.
On Americana Thursday I stepped up the pace with a look at this 2010 supercharged Shelby GT 500.
Ferrari Friday's post was about this two owner 1955 Ferrari 750 Monza which has been raced by the likes of 1961 World Champion Phil Hill, Carol Shelby and it's current owner Jim Hall of Chaparral fame.
Yesterday's Lotus blog was about the Lotus S2 Type 79 note to be confused with the Lotus 79 Formula One racing car.
Todays post features this Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé designed for convivial motoring.
Thanks for joining me on this " GALPOT Weekly #60" edition of 'Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres" I hope you have enjoyed catching up with the last seven posts using the highlighted links and that you will join me daily during the week ahead. Don't forget to come back now !

GALPOT Weekly #50
Welcome to GALPOT Weekly #50 a review of the last seven posts at "Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres".

The week started with a trip to Danville Concours d'Elegance with Geoffrey Horton where this Aston Martin DB2/4 with coachwork by Serafino Allemano was one of several one off vehicles on display.
The MG NA which I looked at on Tuesdays blog features a hidden rear petrol tank making it easy to distinguish from it's K-Type predecessor.

On Wednesday it was a huge thrill to welcome Jay 'California Streets' Wollenweber to the GALPOT contributing team, Jay also attended the Danville Concours d'Elegance where he met Geoffrey and his XK140 FHC SE MC.

Jay's photographs also featured on Americana Thursdays Land Yacht blog which included this 1957 pillarless estate / station wagon Buick Century Caballero.

Ferrari Friday's blog overdosed on California Sunshine and also included an error, I erroneously had the spyder above down as a 330 GTS, it has since transpired that the car is one of just 20 365 GTS models, essentially a slightly updated 330 GTS body with faired headlights and a larger 4.4 litre /267 cui motor.

Yesterdays blog featured a couple of 1958 Lotus 16's with oblique mounted motors.
Today's Sunday Special feature is about a six cylinder Aston Martin DBS that outwardly appears to be a V8 DBS for the benefit of viewers of the television series "The Persuaders".
I hope you have enjoyed catching up with the last seven "Gettin' a lil psycho on tyres" posts using the links in this 'GALPOT Weekly #50' edition of "GALPOT" and that you will join me daily in the week ahead. Don't forget to come back now !

GALPOT Weekly #23
Welcome to the 23rd edition of GALPOT weekly where you will be able to catch up on all that has been happening at 'Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres'.

The GALPOT Week started seeped in history with a brief overview of the exhibits at Brooklands Museum hard to pic a favorite exhibit when like the Halford motor above, that was first turbocharged in 1925 and when that didn't work it was supercharged, so many of the exhibits have so many stories to tell.

MGB GT's like the example I looked at above on Tuesday were slightly slower to accelerate than the MG B Roadster I looked at last week, but conversely they also had a 5 mph higher top speed than their roadster siblings.

Mark Hales shared the #13 Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, seen above at Brands Hatch, with former ABBA drummer Slim Borgudd to win the Willhire 25 hour race at Snetterton in 1989. On Wednesday I discovered that the Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth was built in Genk Belgium.

Geoffrey Horton's photograph above show's the only known survivor of just three Hupmobile Speedsters thought to have been built in 1932. Amongst the many fascinating things that I learned for Thursdays Americana blog was that the vehicles 103 hp 8 cylinder motor was marketed as having 'Big Bertha Power'.

It would be absolutely unthinkable at today's values for some one to turn a car with as much history as this Ferrari 246, last front engined Grand Prix winning chassis, which I looked at on Friday, into a two seat runaround road car. Yet back in 1965 New Zealander Pat Hoare did exactly that, turning this car into a replica Ferrari GTO, when this car became obsolete and he retired from racing.

Over the two years since I first posted the photo of the 1965 Indy Winning Lotus 38, which I re examined on Saturday, at Rowdy.com I was surprised to learn that Jim Clark demonstrated the forth of of the eight Lotus 38's, fitted with symmetrical suspension on a couple of Swiss Hillclimbs.

Today's 'Gettin' a li'l psycho on tyres' post is about the forerunner of the Mercedes Benz S Class the W108 chassis above was known as the Fintail without Fintails and marketed as the Mercedes Benz 250 SE.
Coming up next week an overview of a Classic Car Museum in Malta, a look at an MG racing Series from the 1980's and on Wednesday I'll be looking at the final Sierra RS Cosworth incarnation.
Thanks for joining me on GALPOT Weekly #23 I hope you'll have fun following the links above and that you will join me again at 'GALPOT' during the week ahead. Don't forget to come back now !
